A rewarding time has been had at Chelsea this year. The long drive from Forfar, Scotland incurred an over night stay in the Birmingham area, then an early start on the Saturday before the show.
Setting up at Chelsea is a long-drawn affair to put it mildly. The girls finished at 9.30pm at night on Saturday returning on Sunday for a 12 hour shift of final tweaks before Press Day and the patronage of HRH Queen Elizabeth.
Our stand attracted much attention this year and was much photographed by both the press and visitors to the show. Celebrities once again joined us on the stand – finding the whole look irresistable.
It’s a bit like being on television when we are on our stand! 1000’s and 1000’s of people all ooohing and aahing and of course buying our lovely twines, (all purchases are of course pre-empted by the unconscious inhalation of the desired ball or spool of twine’s heady aroma.
The fantastic gardens on display and the truly amazing floral display in the Great Pavillion sum up the fact that gardeners whether on a grand or tiny scale are truly wonderful lovely people.
